AKVIS Coloriage 7.5

Founded back in 2004, AKVIS is a company that specializes in the development of image processing software applications. In this regard the company has a team of highly skilled IT professionals with plenty of experience under their belt. The company gives back to the community by organizing web-design and digital photography contests and by offering free licenses to non-profit organizations.

One software application AKVIS came up with is the aptly named AKVIS Coloriage, an application that weighs in at close to 20MB (so it may take a while for the download to complete if you’re on a less than spectacular internet connection) and works with all versions of the Microsoft-developed Windows operating system (including the latest iteration, Windows 7).

It should be mentioned right about now that there is a Mac OS X version of AKVIS Coloriage as well. So if you’re not using Microsoft’s OS, you can still take advantage of the functionality provided by this great piece of software.

Speaking of functionality, what can AKVIS Coloriage do? Here’s the brief and to the point answer: it allows you to turn a black and white picture into a modern, color picture. Additionally, this application lets you replace colors in photos that are already color.

Thanks to this easy to use application, you could for example give your grandma a nice present. You could scan some old black and white pictures, add color to them via AKVIS Coloriage, then present the images to your grandma. Or you could do something for your significant other. You could use AKVIS Coloriage to see how your car would look like ping – oh wait, that’s jut my significant other who wants a pink car. But the point remains valid – you can use AKVIS Coloriage to switch colors around in a picture.

The functionality that AKVIS Coloriage provides does not come free of charge. You can use AKVIS Coloriage free of charge only during the 10-day trial period. Once that period is over, you need to pay for a license to keep using AKVIS Coloriage.
